Founded by photographers Matthew Lloyd and Bethany Clarke, Pleasantly Beige is a quiet collaboration between two seasoned image-makers. Matthew brings years of experience in the commercial and editorial world, with a background shooting campaigns for major brands and portraits for newspapers and magazines — including regular commissions for the LA Times' celebrity features in London. Bethany, formerly a photojournalist, now spends most of her time photographing weddings in a natural, reportage style. This venture offers her space to explore something more posed and creative, while keeping the same eye for honesty and detail.

Pleasantly Beige is our shared studio — a calm, personal space shaped by natural light, layered texture, and ease. No flashbulbs, no forced smiles — just beautifully lit portraits that feel like you.

We work with actors who need a clean, industry-standard casting headshot — as well as those looking for something more atmospheric or character-led. Many choose to shoot both.

We also welcome professionals looking for images that go beyond the corporate standard. Whether you need an updated LinkedIn profile, author portrait or website bio, we offer portraits that feel honest, human and quietly confident.

Every session takes place in our natural light studio in North Yorkshire. We use hand-painted backdrops, considered colour palettes and intuitive direction to create timeless, flattering images that last.
